The Universe has given us our assignment, it’s time for divine alignment

Happy August Gems! Can you believe we are already eight months into the year? Time is flying by as life continues. July was a month of movement in the cosmos in which we are still feeling the effects. The energy of fate and karma were highlighted as our values have been brought back into perspective. Past wounds may be reopened for us to take a new outlook on healing and moving forward.  Add to the mix, aliens are now apparently real, the earth is heating up to a boiling point and it continues to become more expensive to live on this spinning rock. Yeah, July was a lot! The cosmos was just as festive, as the saying goes, “As above, so below.”

We closed the month with both Venus and the asteroid Chiron going retrograde, making that now six planetary bodies in retrograde. Although things are heating up, we are being called to balance our flow by slowing down a bit to do some self reflection. When planets are in retrograde, they appear to slow down, this is an indication that we too should slow down and do some reflection around the themes the planets influence.

In the case of Venus Chiron, we will be looking at our: values, self worth, relationships, money and inner wounds we may have been repressing. The activation of Leo season cracks open our hearts to pour out our creative expression, confidence in self.  Leo season also highlights our relationship with children and our own inner child. The universe is giving us a lot to think about and August is giving us the energy we need to reflect and process these deep emotions, festive times ahead!

August starts and ends with Full Moons; it’s giving a heavy release. Mercury and Uranus will also join the retrograde party, bringing more reflection and unpacking around our mindset, mental health as well as how we deal with change and transformation. The first Full Moon on August 1^st will be a supermoon in the sign of Aquarius. Supermoons occur when the Moon is closest to the earth, hence we tend to feel these energies more intensely. This Full Moon will be a call to return home to our most authentic self while releasing the illusions, fears and traumas that keep us repressing who we truly are.

Aquarius is the sign of the knowledge bearer, the innovator and the humanitarian.  Although it is a collective like energy, the collective is made up of individuals.  It is in our individual, authentic expression that makes way for a myriad of solutions for the betterment of us all.  Under this full moon we are met with a potent opportunity to release the conditioning, fears and traumas that have kept us from showing up as our most authentic self.

Our minds are the most conditioned part of our bodies. From the moment we are born, we are given: a name, a family, traditions, etc.  Our subconscious mind soaks up all these experiences in our mental memory bank. When we experience trauma, or not having our emotional needs met as children, this can make an indent in our minds, hence influencing our nervous system to respond in fight or flight.  When these behaviours, thought patterns, experiences continue on a repetitive basis we normalize these responses in the subconscious mind.  This Full Moon with the retrograde season is a beautiful time to examine which of our emotional needs have yet to be met, and still cause us to respond in fight, or flight. We are no longer children, when we respond in this manner, we are only fighting ourselves and in flight away from our dreams.

Do not get caught up in the circus of distractions. Leo is a fixed energy, which is extremely focused on the season it’s in and aligns to the divine assignment. Your divine assignment is you. You have a special cosmic make up, your lifetime of light and dark has made you the most special version of you. There is medicine in the madness, a testimony after the test and victory when we transmute our victimhood. Let’s make the rest of this year the best of this year. The universe has given us our assignment, it’s time for divine alignment.
