The Christian community in Scarborough witnessed the soft launch of Faith and Business (FAB), a movement designed to bridge the gap between spiritual calling and marketplace calling. Founded by Bishop Dr. Pete Pinnock; leadership executive coach, faith-based strategist, and pastor of Calvary Evangelistic Assembly Canada (CEA), FAB was born from a clear vision: financial empowerment rooted in Christian values.
FAB describes itself as “A movement empowering individuals to pursue their business goals without compromising their Christian values.” The mission is simple yet ambitious; to equip business leaders with the tools and spiritual grounding to lead with: excellence, integrity, and impact. Its vision? To raise a new generation of entrepreneurs who conduct business God’s way: ethically, boldly, and with eternal purpose.
The soft launch was held at CEA, located at 365 Midwest Road in Scarborough. The theme, “God’s Plan…Your Business…One Mission” set the tone for what is to come. Attendees were asked a bold question, “Do you want to start a successful business with tips from leaders in the field? This is your opportunity.”
FAB’s official launch took place less than a month later, on June 21st, 2025, at the Kennedy Conference Centre in Scarborough. The symposium brought together a panel of leaders including Dr. Pinnock, his wife Rev. Kerry-Ann Pinnock, financial advisor Sadeki Simpson, and pastor and business coach Lance Davenport.
During the symposium, participants gained practical tools and faith-based strategies for entrepreneurship. The key sessions included:
- Leading with Vision: Anchoring leadership in faith for 2025 and beyond.
- Starting Your Business: Understanding the foundations of entrepreneurship.
- Financial Stewardship and Funding: Making wise choices and managing resources.
- Business Excellence and Execution: Strategies for building sustainable enterprises.
This mix of spiritual and professional insights emphasized FAB’s core belief; faith should not be separated from financial success; it should fuel it.
FAB’s commitment to future leaders came to life through its scholarship program. At the launch, the organization awarded two secondary school scholarships and two post-secondary scholarships to outstanding young people in the community:
- Makayla Baptiste – Inspired by her own journey of resilience and faith, she is passionate about helping youth navigate challenges.
- Andon Henry – A determined student committed to growth through education and leadership.
- Owen Binns – Excelling both academically and athletically, he aspires to pursue medicine while holding firmly to Christian values.
- Shanelle Coleman – Breaking barriers in her family, she approaches education with discipline and grace.
Each recipient represents FAB’s vision of nurturing leaders who will create meaningful impact in their communities.
While the Black, African, and Caribbean community already has strong organizations like the Black Business and Professional Association (BBPA) and the African Canadian Business Network (ACBN), FAB offers something different. By merging entrepreneurial opportunities with spiritual values, it creates a distinct model for empowerment.
The initiative positions itself as a community of Christian leaders, entrepreneurs, and visionaries aligning their business calling with God’s plan. As FAB emphasizes: “Your faith is not separate from your success—it is the foundation.”
