Are You Ringing in the Same Old Year?

You may or may not be aware that we are currently in the midst of Mercury Retrograde.  It began this past December 19th, and will continue until January 8th of next year. Mercury retrograde occurs three or four times a year when Mercury passes the earth in its orbit.  As it passes the bend, Mercury slows down and even appears to have stopped and begun to spin backwards. This is an illusion of course, it really isn’t moving backwards, but very similar to a pair of trains passing one another, making it look as though one is going backwards.

As the end of the year approaches, many of us also feel as though we, or some of the people around us may have gone backwards. I would like to reassure you, that this too is an illusion. In actuality we are unable to go backwards.  Go back to the beginning of this article, start reading it again and read it exactly at the same pace you did the first time.  Be sure to breathe exactly the same way and at the same times you did the first time.  Make sure your physiology, including your body temperature, your rate of blinking and heart rate are the same.

By now you have likely realized that is impossible to go backwards. You are able to closely recreate or repeat something, yet unable to go backwards to where you were before. In fact, you’re about 20 to 30 seconds older than when you first started reading. With the New Year around the corner, have you taken the time to evaluate what you have left unfinished or incomplete?

We have a tendency to take tally and then scold ourselves over not being further ahead, which in turn creates the energy and point of attraction for you to create results that are the same. Rather than focusing on how far back you appear to be, take a look at how far you have come over the past year.  Recognize how you have evolved and grown, the ways in which you have matured and become wiser.  Acknowledge the areas you have found or created more awareness and knowledge in your life. Now is the time to put your attention in the direction you wish to travel in to see the results you wish to create. So out with the old and in with the NEW.
