I “Gut” A Feeling

Have you ever caught yourself saying, “I just have a gut feeling”?  Gut feeling is a phrase most of us use to describe our intuition and intuitive abilities.  As a third generation intuitive, healer and medium, my intuitive abilities were heightened from a young age for me.

Tiger Wood’s father was a golfer before Tiger was born. As such, it was a very natural and easy feat for Tiger not only to learn the game of golf, but also to excel in and master it as well.  Similarly, those of us with ancestors that have possessed and honed their own intuitive abilities, become able to tap into our own intuition with ease and natural skill.

We are all born with intuitive abilities and as with any skill, the more you develop, train and practice it, the stronger and more effective it becomes.  Your intuition is your inner knowing, there to assist you in making choices and decisions.

How many times have you experienced something unwanted, or an interaction with someone where you had an initial feeling that you ignored? What led you to do that? Often times, we don’t want to be rude, or go against the crowd or simply don’t trust ourselves enough.

As an intuitive reader, I consistently have clients in my office who come in seeking guidance in their life situations in areas such as love, relationships, finances and careers. After I relay the guidance, many clients will say that what I have said is nothing new to them and that they already knew the information provided. Why would people pay to hear something they already knew? The lack of connection and trust, of their own intuition prompts them to seek validation and confirmation from a third party.

One of the first things I teach my clients is how to tune into their own intuition and to practice building their intuitive muscles.  As the old saying goes, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; show him how to catch fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”

To develop and strengthen your own intuitive guidance, imagine something that brings you a positive or light feeling, and then take a moment to notice where you feel that in your body and how it feels in your body. Repeat this exercise, while imagining something that brings you a negative or heavy feeling.  There is no right or wrong answer or response.

When you need to make a choice or decision, check in with your intuition for guidance, and practice using it even with small decisions. By trusting your own intuition, you will find yourself on a path of empowered independence, and if you “gut” a feeling, go with it!
